What happens during women’s wellness appointments?

When you arrive for a women’s wellness exam, you’re greeted by the welcoming PharmXhealthOne staff. Your provider checks your blood pressure, pulse, other vital signs, weight, and reviews your medical history.

They complete a comprehensive physical examination, including a breast exam, pelvic exam, and possibly a Pap test to screen for signs of cervical cancer. To complete a Pap test, your provider collects a sample of cervical cells for lab analysis.

Depending on your symptoms, health history, and results from the exam, your provider might recommend you undergo a urine test, blood test, biopsy, ultrasound, or other imaging procedures to detect or rule out specific women’s health concerns.

Will I need treatment?

After a women’s health examination at PharmXhealthOne, you might not require any treatment if you’re in good health. In some instances, however, your provider might recommend the following:

  • Diet and exercise changes

  • Medical weight loss with custom meal plans

  • Other healthy lifestyle changes

  • Medications

  • Dietary supplements - Nutraceuticals

  • IV therapy or vitamin shots

  • Vaccinations

  • Birth control

  • Additional diagnostic testing

  • Minor surgical procedures

The PharmXhealthOne team can refer you out to OB/GYN specialists in your area if you have a complex gynecological condition or signs of breast cancer. They monitor your health and wellness over time and make adjustments to treatment plans as needed to reduce your risk of serious complications.

How often should I schedule women’s health examinations?

Unless PharmXhealthOne specialists recommend more frequent visits, schedule a women’s wellness examination once yearly. Make an appointment if you have any health concerns or experience new or unusual symptoms, such as abnormal uterine bleeding, pelvic pain, or a lump in your breast.
